The center is really big on helping interns grow in their own skills, not just helping the center grow. They also greatly encourage collaboration and trying new realms of the business that may not be related to your major or job title so that you have the opportunity to get experience in more areas.
What I wish was different
I wish it had been in person, though I understand why it wasn’t since we were still in a pandemic.
Advice
Don’t be afraid to take risks, be bold, and get outside of your comfort zone! The FAC is there to help in however you may need and want you to grow personally, so take the leap!

Graphic Design Intern

What I liked
They gave me the freedom to create my very own project for the company, and they were very flexible about what that could be. They were also very flexible about where I worked from, since the remote option was a possibility
What I wish was different
I wish I could have had a larger graphic design team, and I sometimes felt that my jobs were being done by other interns like the marketing interns. But that's not a big issue by any means, and some of that isn't even controllable by the company itself.
Advice
Don't be afraid to take chances and think boldly. That kind of thinking will set you apart from your peer interns, and you never know when a company might like to have them join you again because of your hard work.
