What I liked
Working in an ER is exciting and unpredictable. The physicians I have worked with are able to teach me in a way that simply cannot be done in a classroom. Aside from learning medical terminology and EMR charting, I have gained knowledge from watching countless procedures be performed such as chest tube placement, central line, procedural sedation, intubation, laceration repair, cardioversion, lumbar punctures, joint reduction, splinting, etc. Getting to work alongside ER physicians has shown me what my life could be like someday, and has solidified by desire to become a doctor.
