Staff & families are so friendly! Such a fun and rewarding experience working with children in need. Hours are always flexible and work around my school schedule when classes begin.

What I liked
I very much enjoyed working with the children I was placed with at FVA. I definitely looked forward to seeing them every day.
What I wish was different
I would not recommend some of the bosses. They are very slow at communication. For one shift, I was driving to Fond du Lac from Oshkosh for a shift starting at 10am. I got to the family's house, and was then informed (by the family, not my boss), that there would be no therapy on that day. So, I was not paid for any drive time and wasted an hour of my day driving for no reason. Even after I put in my two week notice (as school was beginning again), my boss did not email me back to confirm they got my notice or ask any questions. When asked again in person, she confirmed that she got the email, but was not going to reply. Communication is such an important role in professional jobs, and this company did not have that.

What I liked
The bosses are all so friendly and so helpful! Each case you get assigned is truly different and you will fall in love with all the children!
What I wish was different
I wish I could’ve kept all of my cases into the semester because I loved them all but it wasn’t feasible with school. It is also a great learning experience!

What I liked
It is a fun and exciting. There is something new everyday. They are very flexible and accommodating with scheduling. The kids and their families are great, and the other BT Techs are a pleasure to work with.
What I wish was different
Advice
Keep an open mind and be patient. Just like any job, there are good and bad days, but these kinds and their families count on you and appreciate what you do whether you know it or not.
