Fox Pest Control

Customer Service Representative

May 2020 - August 2021 • Logan, UT

What I liked

Fox has some great people and I learned a lot about customer service. I came out more confident and able to talk to people on the phone and through email

What I wish was different

The pay is low for the work. I got yelled at, chewed out, and had to deal with complex problems with sometimes limited supervision. Employees should be paid to reflect the work The business has some questionable decisions in regard to customer contracts. The highly touted ethics are regularly dismissed by corporate policy. I would recommend reevaluating their advertised ethics or treating customers more fairly.

Advice

Be ready to be expected to commit as much time to this company as you can. It can be great short-term job or summer gig but I don't believe most people would find this as a good long-term option.

Route Manager

May - August 2021 • Albany, NY

What I liked

I loved how extremely difficult it was and the distance between where I was when I started and where I was when I ended. I loved learning how to communicate with people in real time, and solving problems. I became so much more confident in myself and what I am about and what I want in life by doing summer sales.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change a thing. SUCH a great experience.

Advice

Before going out for a summer, ROLEPLAY ROLEPLAY ROLEPLAY. That will be really helpful. I would also get close with the people who are going out with you and attend as many of the trainings as you can. I think the biggest problem people run into, is that they weren't prepared for how hard it was going to be and so they fold in the first couple weeks.

Inside Sales Manager

April - September 2019 • Logan, UT

What I liked

I felt treated like an equal to anyone in the company. I felt valued and encouraged at all times. I was rewarded for hard work and successes and was offered help when I wasn't doing very well. My managers were always very kind and cared about me personally, not just giving me grunt work.

What I wish was different

Sales are difficult when they are full commission, but that's what I signed up for when taking a sales job. A base pay is always more comfortable, but it allowed me room for personal growth.

Advice

Remember that sales is a mind game overall. Be kind to yourself whether you're at the top of the sales board or not. Fox is an amazing company that has strong moral values and I would recommend working here to anyone!

Salesman

May - August 2019 • Albany, NY

What I liked

I had an awesome experience this last summer. I've always been skeptical of summer sales. When I started school up at USU, I told myself I would never do summer sales. But my experience was nothing like I thought. I had so much fun living in New York, working hard and playing hard. I made enough money not to have to work during the semester, my wife no longer has to work, and we are much more financially free. The friendships we started at Fox have been ongoing, and the leadership and people skills I learned have been tremendously rewarding.

What I wish was different

The only thing about summer sales is you do work ALL summer long. We got to do some fun things like go on a work trip to Hawaii, spend time in NYC, etc. but it wasn't the "relaxing" summer that can be nice after a busy school semester.

Advice

For anyone who's considered summer sales, or is looking for a great growth experience, or who just wants to get ahead financially, Fox is at the top level. No one is more considerate of their employees or more capable when it comes to leadership. If you are willing to work hard and put in the effort, it is well worth it. And it isn't nearly as risky as you think. Everyone on our team made more than they would've at any other job.

Sales Rep

April - August 2019 • Corpus Christi, TX

What I liked

Couldn't work in a better, more upbeat culture. Very honest company with owners that really care about you. Made great money, made lifelong friends, and was able to travel to new places. I had just gotten married, and I was very impressed how well they took care of my wife while I was out working.

What I wish was different

It was very hot, and I wish I would have bought some shorts. This position is door-to-door and many days were HOT.

Advice

If you are considering selling over the summer, you wont find a better company to do door-to-door sales for. It is a great learning and growing experience.
