I really liked the independence that I had traveling within the regional zone. One of the best experiences I had however, was working and collaborating with the other five Great Lakes Market Area interns via conference calls and then eventually meeting on business trips. It was great to work with some very talented and friendly peers.
What I wish was different
My personal experience in the sense that my supervisor wasn't exactly hands on or supportive of my time with Ford. For this reason I sought out help and advice from other employees in the office and even those is the broader market area for help! It ended up being a great learning experience as a business management student of what can make or break a manager.
Advice
Be prepared to drive around to many different dealerships. In my intern experience I drove over 9,000 miles and called on 50 plus different dealerships talking about the FordPass mobility application for mobile devices and FordPass rewards customer loyalty program. The "windshield" time can be exciting since no two days are alike, but it can become very lonely driving by yourself so podcasts, music, and audiobooks are your best friends.
