I liked how much I was able to be a good influence for the youth in my church, and the leadership skills I was able to gain from the experience. I also liked traveling and working with different counselors from around the USA.
What I wish was different
I wish the pay was better, and that we were more encouraged to take breaks. Although we had planned breaks-- sometimes you were seen as a bad counselor if you didn't want to spend every waking moment you had with the kids you were over.
Advice
Take your breaks, and focus on creating experiences that will help the youth throughout their lives. Don't get caught up in counselor drama (who's dating who or who is a good/bad counselor).

What I liked
Everyone who works for FSY is amazing! They are high energy, passionate, and quick to lend a helping hand. As I prepared materials to help my youth, I learned and grew a lot myself.
What I wish was different
Some days I felt like I needed longer break times.
Advice
Be prepared to be exhausted! Take good care of yourself on your breaks so you can give it your all when you're with your youth.
