What I liked
The people were extremely friendly and very helpful to work with. They partnered the interns with a mentor who were all very helpful and it was a great relationship between all the interns and mentors. The work included joining individual teams and separate intern led projects. Our intern projects are now in further developments in the company, and we were able to have concrete contributions to the teams we contributed to. The leadership is very involved as well and very friendly. I found myself talking to the President and Director of Engineering a few times.
It was a very low-stress work environment, expectations were very clear and people wanted to help you. There were a lot of social events within the entire office and separate intern outings including a Cubs game and "Monday Fun-days". I did a lot of work in SolidWorks, and they have the manufacturing on site so we were able to see the actual machines creating parts and the entire back end process.
