Nuclear Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • San Marcos, CA

What I liked

I liked the 4-10 work schedule, and I liked that we had a close intern group.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more of an intern-based experience, where interns could learn more about the different divisions of the company through intern specific events.

Advice

It was good to experience what working at a smaller sized company was like, compared to a larger one.

Engineering Intern

June - September 2018 • San Marcos, CA

What I liked

I liked the environment. It felt like we were one big team even though we all had our own little projects and assignments that we were working on. I learned a lot while I was here just by taking on assignments and being ready to get hands on experience with anything and everything. I'm grateful my boss gave me space to learn and was confident enough of my ability to accomplish tasks he gave me .

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more women mentors or even fellow female engineering interns.

Advice

Make conversation with the employees. It doesn't matter if they are in the same department as you, it's always good to strike up a conversation with a new face in the break room. I learned that most everyone here was very friendly and gave great advice.
