About FlightSafety International

In 1951, FlightSafety International was founded by Albert “Al” Ueltschi when he realized through his own experiences as a pilot there was a need for better training. As a pioneer in the aviation industry, he recognized flight simulators would enable pilot trainees to practice both normal and emergency procedures under controlled conditions. Seventy years later, his innovative thinking is at the core of everything we do as we continue on a bold new path to be the best choice in aviation training.

We are an international company. With headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, we operate in 16 states, 31 locations and six countries.

Our instructors, engineers, technicians, and employees contribute significantly to aviation safety worldwide. We do this through comprehensive training programs taught by top instructors, by manufacturing the most advanced simulators, and by developing leading-edge courseware to ensure the most realistic experience.

We follow our FlightPlan, which is our strategic north star. If we align to this plan, together we’ll find success. But it’s not just the work we do, it’s how we do it. We live by our core values, which are grounded in what’s best for our employees, customers and clients.

Safety is our top priority. Teaching it, researching it and partnering with the best in the business. It’s what we’re founded on. We go beyond instruction for proficiency – we aim to train the most prepared aviation professionals in the sky.

Our customers are the reason we’re here. Training is our business, but the experience must be beyond reproach. We tailor training to a customer’s specific needs and design and manufacture advanced-technology flight simulators and products with unmatched realism. That means the best experience in the best environment. It’s the impetus of Al Ueltschi’s foundation for the company and is still the cornerstone of our business.

We invest in our company and our employees. Whether it’s through new tools and training, or clear career mapping, we know you want to work for a company that cares about your future. Our leaders are committed to your success.

In 1996, FlightSafety was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway. According to the Forbes Global 2000 list, Berkshire Hathaway is the eighth-largest public company in the world, the tenth-largest conglomerate by revenue and the largest financial services company by revenue in the world. With this kind of support, we have a clear direction and path forward.

We’re evolving. For more than 70 years, we’ve been a trusted partner in the aviation industry, and we’ve had great success investing in our customers and clients. But we must never stop innovating. Being a part of FlightSafety means you get to infuse new energy and knowledge into our company.

Employees at FlightSafety are curious and collaborative. You are our front line, whether you sit at a desk or in a cockpit, you bring the best experience to our customers and clients. No matter your line of sight, you are a critical piece of this enterprise.

Each of you is an integral part of our path forward. We’re always looking for new ways to invest in our team and company. If you have an idea, our doors are always open.
