What I liked
I love the people and the amount of overtime offered. They are a Christ centered, employee owned company so they are always willing to be flexible with hours, help you find more hours, and just genuinely care about you.
What I wish was different
It is factory work so it's hot long hours but there isn't alot you can change about that. Things get extremely busy and it can be messy and confusing with everything on the floor but there are improvements and changes every year and they keep what works and change what doesn't. It's always slightly different and that brings constant ups and downs. They're just a growing company.
Advice
Get enough sleep and always drink water.

What I liked
That it was during the summer and easy to leave when the school year began.
What I wish was different
Air conditioning. It got so hot and muggy in there. One side of the building left the garage doors open and on some days it would be a good temperature for it, but the side I was on stayed stagnant. Even though we were provided fans, it was horrible, especially when we stepped outside of the air flow.
Advice
Do the work and you will be fine. It is possible to take days off, but you have to ask for it. Just watch the other workers for your cues. Many of them have been there for years so they know what they are doing.

What I liked
I liked the work itself. It was fairly easy and once you got the hang of it it was something that was very doable.
What I wish was different
A lot of the full-time workers were rude to the summer staff. Everything got blamed on the summer staff or the night shift. I got bullied a lot by an older woman in my department.
Advice
Bring a water bottle. The factory gets absurdly hot in the summer and water is the only thing that will keep you from passing out.

What I liked
The ability to work on my own and with others on projects with some supervision.
What I wish was different
The work hours were cut down this summer, so it would have been nice to be able to work the same amount of hours as the last few summers.
Advice
It is a great hands on experience, with a good group of people working alongside you and helping. If someone messed up, the feedback from the supervisors wasn't negative and it allowed for positive attitudes in order to get it right the next time.

Summer Help

What I liked
Fleetwood was a great summer job that was consistent each day, understanding about days off, and also pays overtime!
What I wish was different
The factory doesn’t have air conditioning and with it being one of the hottest summers in a while, there were some crazy hot days in the factory. For the most part the people were nice but there were some workers who were uncomfortable around women (including myself).
Advice
Expect long days but get to know your fellow coworkers! They will help BIG TIME! Also, you will grow a lot! I learned a lot about discipline and hard work. Working in the factory motivated me to find a career which I love.
