I like being able to communicate with the customers that come in. I also liked to help them out with what they're looking for
What I wish was different
I wished I would have asked for a raise sooner in my time working there. I work almost all day just to get paid $11, less than high schoolers working at the same job as me; I'm a college student.

that there had been more coworkers to work with on a shift because it was usually only one person and one manager during a regular day shift

What I liked
I love the environment of Five Below - it was my first ever job, so I am really lucky that they had me back for the summer. I have always been a valued employee enough to get a promotion for this past summer.
What I wish was different
I wish that the staff was a bit bigger and that employees would be accountable for their jobs.
Advice
Find a job that values you for your work - leave one immediately if they don't. Nobody deserves a job where they feel useless.

The staff was all like a family and I started in October of 2018, and I was able to work my way up to the Sales Lead position because I was able to work and prove myself.

I wish I could have stayed at the company a little longer, but I was moving to go to college in another state that doesn't have a Five Below.

Always do more than you are paid to do, because great things will come from it.

I like that since I have been there for so long, I have many responsibilities and they trust me with certain tasks that they don’t trust with other workers.

Sometimes depending on the time of the summer, it gets a little slow so my hours could potentially be cut back.
Advice
Stay at your “high school” job as long as possible if they take you back because it’s the easiest way to make money when you are home for winter break and the summer.
