What I liked

I enjoyed the broad responsibilities of the job: visiting the sick and elderly, giving announcements at Sunday services, teaching children's Sunday school, assisting in the church's humanitarian ministry toward those in the church and community, and attending weekly meetings with church staff.

What I wish was different

Toward the end of my internship I was assisting my church develop a small group for young adults. Because my internship was ending, I did not have enough time to collaborate further or finish. I wish I had more time during the beginning of my internship to have worked on this.

Advice

Interning at a church offers the best hands-on experience for anyone who is interested in ministry. If interested in ministry, look for internships at various churches!
