What I liked

You set your own schedule and rely on yourself to meet deadlines. This is a very independently managed position and requires a lot of collaboration between team members as well as with external organizations. Fun staff and social events with managers who truly want to see you succeed. Also, they take applied learning to the next level with real business trip opportunities as a student. Fantastic place to work!

Student Analyst

August 2014 • Wichita, KS

What I liked

There are a lot of positive aspects of this internship. All of the staff in the building are incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and always helpful and constructive. The work covers many different subjects through multiple different projects, which really helped me understand what I found interesting and wanted to explore further. Through this internship, I also got the chance to meet professors all over campus, making connections and learning tons of new information.

What I wish was different

There's not much missing from this job. The computers are slow and make it difficult to run certain programs, but not unbearably so. At times, it seems like there's a bottomless stack of things to do, which in practice will keep you busy for months at a time before finally getting through it all, but there's always new projects rotating in to focus on.

Advice

Two very big parts of this job are research and time management. If you aren't very good at one or both of those, this is an excellent opportunity for improvement.
