It's a small business, so I had much more responsibility than I would in a larger business. I also got to know my coworkers really well.
What I wish was different
I wish I didn't have to work as much on the weekends, but since it's a restaurant job, that's just how it goes. I also wish COVID weren't a thing, but hey, that's just life.
Advice
When starting a new job with lots of details to remember, be patient with yourself and don't be afraid to ask questions. No one expects you to remember everything by the end of training, just the most important things.

What I liked
It's not a huge industry, so I've been able to get to know each of my coworkers and actually become friends with them.
They also are really good at encouraging progression. My managers often take a minute at the end of my shift to ask me what I think I did well and what I think I could work on.
What I wish was different
I really just wish that I had started working there sooner.
Advice
If you work here (or at really any serving job), don't expect to be perfect to start with. The hardest part is learning the menu and getting used to how the computer works. After that it becomes much easier and more fulfilling.
