Assistant Manager

April 2018 • New Brighton, PA

What I liked

Getting to work surrounded by movies suits my interest and made this job very fun. There is a lot of autonomy and aside from sales expectations, upper management is mostly hands off and allows for me to do my work autonomously. The customers always keep things interesting as well.

What I wish was different

There have been some frustrating communication issues from upper management. If I had to change anything, I would minimize the pressure put on workers to make such a wide variety of sales. Managers need to strongly communicate what the consequences of not meeting sales goals are rather than moving directly towards penalizing workers with zero follow-up.

Advice

For part-time work in college, this has been a great job. Based on my experience, I would encourage people to really seek out jobs that interest them and provide them with a way to enjoy their work.
