Wish it would’ve been more organized in terms of what the plan was to do with the kids each day, and them also know what we’re doing.
Advice
Don’t be afraid to speak up, communicate, and do things the way you need them to be rather than allowing others to determine how things work.

I liked being able to work directly with a family.

I hoped that I would be able to have more freedom in taking time off. There weren't other people to replace me if I wasn't there, so it left me unable to spend much time traveling during the summer.
Advice
I would tell people to make sure that they are doing something they enjoy (at least a little bit). I put myself in a position that left me unable to do a lot of things that I enjoy because of the timing of the job.

Hanging out with kids all day can be exhausting but fulfilling. I felt like I really connected with my kids and helped them have a great summer.
What I wish was different
The amount of guilt I felt when I took 10 days off to visit my family in Chicago was really rough. When your job is caring for others it’s hard to separate work and your personal life because it all feels so personal.
Advice
Nannying teaches you patience, responsibility, and boundaries. I highly suggest everybody try it just for a little.

What I liked
Since I work for my grandpa, I enjoyed getting to see him every day. I have worked for him every summer since 2012 I probably enjoy checking the cattle the most. Wheat harvest is also enjoyable as I get to see more of my family that also help us.
What I wish was different
The only thing I didnt enjoy about this summer is that I didn't really have any friends in the area so I didn't do much fun this summer. But on the other side of that, I used that time to work more and save up money for when I returned to Hays.
Advice
Some advice I would give others is to take advantage of the time off in the summer to make money so you may not have to add on the stress of a job throughout the school year or be able to pay for more of your tuition out of pocket instead of getting student loans.
