Reactor Services Intern
June - August 2018 • Warrenville, IL
What I liked
Everyone was extremely helpful when I had questions or needed help with the projects that I was working on. I learned a lot from this internship and made a lot of connections with other interns and Exelon employees. My manager wanted us to have meaningful experiences while we were there, and he allowed us to travel to some of the nuclear plants to see things happening in person (such as dry cask storage).
What I wish was different
My technical and peer mentors were both located at a plant while I was at coorporate headquarters. This ended up not being too much of an issue, but there were a few times that they were difficult to get a hold of.
Advice
Anyone who is looking for a similar experience should take advantage of the opportunities that they get to expand their professional network.
