Here's the truth,
1 in 6 Americans are food insecure. In the land of abundance there’s food everywhere but, for some, not a drop to eat. The problem is not simple. It’s systematic and complex.
Signature of the era - there’s growing awareness of hunger as a social problem, and our collective creativity is chomping at the bit to address issues like these from new angles. Together, we’re asking the meaningful questions. What can I do? What can my music do? What can business do?
One day, an entrepreneur named Steve asked, “What can a sandwich shop do?”
A Sandwich Shop With A Cause
We opened the first Even Stevens on June 24th, 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT. After donating over 30,000 sandwiches to surrounding non-profits in our first 6 months – we knew we were on to something.
Sustainable social change
Beyond simply handing out sandwiches, our donations allow local non-profits to save cash. Where resources would normally go towards food purchases, they instead go to transitional programs – shelter, resume building, legal assistance, and more. In this way, the sandwiches we give back to each community are an investment in that community’s growth and well-being.
Food Connects Everyone
Together with Even Stevens customers, we’re expanding relationships with national and local brands to further our mission.
