Internal Audit Intern

May - August 2019 • Redlands, CA

What I liked

Great company to work for that really cared about its employees. My mentor and supervisor gave me opportunity to work on a variety of different projects and even gave me responsibility for certain projects on my own once she believed that I was ready. She also gave me very helpful advice on my career and connected me to recruiters at public accounting firms for a full time job after graduation.

What I wish was different

There were a couple days where my supervisor was gone and I didn't have another project to work on. Other than that the experience was great overall and there isn't much that I would want to change.

Advice

Come in with an open mind and be ready to learn. Think about why you are doing things so that you can begin to understand the whole process and how your piece fits in to the big picture.

Software Products Release Intern

June - September 2019 • Redlands, CA

What I liked

I was challenged with various different tasks which pushed me to learn more and work hard. The team and company overall were very friendly and patient because they knew this was a learning experience for me. Everyone was always lending a helping hand.

What I wish was different

I wish the location was not in Redlands. The city is slightly boring and an hour away from Los Angeles.

Advice

Take advantage of the fact that you're surrounded by people with years of experience. Learn about GIS, tech, and overall industry experience from them.

Marketing Intern

June - October 2017 • Redlands, CA

What I liked

This was a very enjoyable internship. It taught me so much about marketing and digital marketing. You never actually felt like an intern but rather a full time member to the team. Esri is a great love to work for!

What I wish was different

The hiring process is a little lengthy and tough after your internship. Ended up having to move on to something different due to the process possibly taking months.

Advice

I highly recommend applying for this internship! Esri is a great place to learn your career in marketing for a corporation.

Digital Marketing Intern

What I liked

The team really cares about the experience of the intern and I absolutely loved working with them! There are over 100 interns, so the experience is really fun and you get to know a lot of people even if you're not from the area like me.

What I wish was different

I really loved the experience, but sometimes I was a little bored because I wasn't always given a lot of tasks.

Advice

Ask for more work when you don't have anything! They don't mind and it impresses them to see your initiative.
