I loved working with the company and their values. My coworkers were friendly and truly enjoyed having me there. Everyone at ESL was willing to help me adjust and answer any questions I had. I had a two week training period and then was at the branch working with members.
What I wish was different
I wish the training had been more like what it would be like at the branch. There was things we weren't taught and had to learn on the job.
Advice
Make sure to ask questions, especially once you are in the branch working with members. You'll be exposed to things you weren't taught in training and if you make a mistake be sure to inform your mentor or another coworker.

What I liked
I loved working here! ESL treats its employees well, and loves to hire people back full time. The training is brief, but thorough, and the summer job allows you to gain paid corporate experience without needing to be full time over the course of a year. ESL also offers opportunities to look at other positions within the company.
What I wish was different
I wish I had applied for a job that more suited my major/career goals.
Advice
Even if you don't bank with ESL, you will learn so much about banking, federal credit unions, financial stuff, etc during training, so do it!

What I liked
I like that it was challenging. I improve my attention to detail skill which is very important. It also gives me an opportunity to learn about the insides and outsides of banking. I really enjoyed working in the fast pace environment.
What I wish was different
I wish that I was given an opportunity to explore more of banking. For example, shadowing brunch manager, and etc.
Advice
Make sure you give pay attention to little details because as a teller it counts a lot. Also, you will not regard working at ESL because everyone is nice and helpful.

What I liked
Hands on experience of dealing with money, investments and loans.
What I wish was different
The branch itself was the busiest location within ESL and at times became exhausting.
Advice
Focus on learning what the bank or credit union offers in terms of their accounts and various loan or investment options so you can be prepared if the member wants clarification or advice.
