Swim Instructor
June 2014 - August 2019 • Chester Springs, PA
What I liked
The job is so rewarding and the staff is great.
What I wish was different
the amount of money you make. I have worked there since I turned 17 and did a lot of work outside of my job title. When I asked for a raise after being there for six summers they said no.
Advice
Just to be patient, things can get very frustrating and sometimes working with little kids can be very difficult. At the end of the day, the kids love the instructors and really look up to them.

Athletic Coach
June - August 2019 • Philadelphia, PA
What I liked
I got to be a figure to kids that I believed needed some sort of figure/ guidance in their lives. I enjoyed working with the kids, but also working alongside other young adults trying to find footing in the real world as well.
What I wish was different
I wish they paid more. I wish they gave a more concrete summary of all of the expectations for the position in the job description.
Advice
Inquire on exactly what is expected of you on a day to day basis at the first interview.
