OUR DISTRICT
Escondido Union (Elementary) School District (EUSD), in partnership with our community, is committed to providing quality learning experiences for all students in a supportive environment, enabling them to be lifelong learners, productive members of the community, and positive contributors. Our goal is to ensure accountability for continuous student academic achievement at a high level for our more than 16,000 students in Preschool through 8th grade. Our teachers, classified employees, and administrators work collaboratively with parents and the community to actively engage all students in daily learning. All of our schools observe a traditional school calendar. We have 17 elementary schools, one Intermediate school (4-8), and five middle schools. The District employs over 1100 certificated employees, approximately 750 classified and 110 hourly Noon Supervisor positions.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
For an open competitive job opportunity, all applicants must submit a regular District employment application through our On-line application system at www.edjoin.org (search Escondido Elementary). Application requirements such as additional documentation and/or certification will vary by job classification. Applications and any required materials must be submitted by the filing deadline. All materials must be submitted electronically via ED-JOIN. Due to our On-line screening process, hard copies will not be accepted. SELECTION PROCEDURE All applications will be screened on the basis of the appropriate experience, education, and training for the position. Since the district is a merit system district, candidates will be required to participate in an examination process to assess qualifications and experience relevant to the knowledge, skills and abilities for this classification. The best-qualified candidates will be invited to participate in technical and personal fitness assessments. Candidates successfully completing all phases of the application and examination process will be ranked on the appropriate eligibility list according to their total examination score. The list is normally in effect for one year. Candidates whose scores place them in the top three ranks will be invited to participate in final interviews with the hiring administrator.
