What I liked
It was super independent experience, being a minor in GIS I was very apprehensive about going into an internship that offer such independence. This experience however has boosted my technical confidence working with GIS by ten fold. It was an irreplaceable experience!
What I wish was different
Perhaps a quick meeting of everyone in the department and project they were working on would've been a nice addition. My advisor was super busy, me as well, so finding times to meet up was an issue.
Advice
No matter how difficult the work gets or how many times you reach out for help, never quit. Asking for assistance is vital to growing in your field and your own personal network. I got close to a lot of professors and professionals by asking for help and I ended up learning a lot along the way.
