Everybody there was incredibly friendly and helpful whenever I had a question about anything. I was able to experience a lot of different engineering tasks throughout the summer, including: assisting in the creation of a modular automated packaging system, created detailed work instructions for various machines around the plant, created CAD drawings and assemblies for multiple engineering projects, etc.
What I wish was different
I wish I had seen the process that the design engineers go through when designing a new part from scratch, however most projects had already been started prior to my internship so I was unable to see that process.
Advice
Don't be afraid to try something you wouldn't normally think of doing! This internship gave a great perspective to both the design engineering world, as well as the manufacturing engineering side of things.
