I got to work directly with doctors at the hospital and help them document what they did with patients. I was also able to view diagnostic tests and see the science behind medicine.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to visit more patients with the doctors when they were doing their rounds or admitting new patients. My job for the most part was sitting at a desk. It wasn't impossible to see patients, but certain things in the job took priority and needed to be completed first.
Advice
If you are interested in pursuing medicine, this is a great experience to shadow a physician while working at a hospital to gain more experience in the healthcare field.
