An incredible experience with great people. Really gave me a good view into the world of environmental law and human rights defense and environmental protection work. Everyone was kind and helpful, and I was trusted to engage in important projects.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time there! It is definitely a desk job, and there's not as much interaction with other humans as I would normally appreciate, but nonetheless, that is the nature of the job and it is an amazing experience
Advice
Do it! Even if law isn't your thing. There is so much that goes into this type of work, and ELAW does it in a thoughtful, respectful, and effective way, that defers to the expertise and experiences of the actual human rights defenders and indigenous folks who are engaged directly with the work.
