Environment Washington is a citizen-based environmental advocacy project of Environment America. Our professional staff combines independent research, practical ideas and tough-minded advocacy to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win real results for Washington’s environment. Environment Washington draws on 30 years of success in tackling our state's top environmental problems. We research the issues and educate the public about what’s at stake. Through our reports, news conferences and interviews with reporters, we help the media cover environmental issues in ways that make sense. Our canvassers meet citizens where they are — starting conversations in public places or going to door-to-door — explaining our mission while raising awareness and funds for environmental protection. When decisions are being made about our environment, our elected officials hear plenty from the oil companies, developers and other powerful interests. We speak up for our environment, making our case to public officials and helping you make your voice heard when it matters most.
