Endeavor Air

Human Resource Department Intern

May - August 2022 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

The people. It was fascinating to see how their culture matched exactly what they had mentioned it was in my interview- it was a culture that felt like family. And I use the word 'family' lightly because I feel like many places say that their culture is family-like, but then it ends up being very cliquey, and this was the complete opposite here. I had many opportunities to be with different departments inside of HR and everyone was really eager to help me learn what they do and were always open for more questions!

What I wish was different

I wish I had the opportunity to take on more work that was similar to my mentors, i.e., more real-world, applicable work or items that would be advantageous for me to have and mention in a future interview. I was tasked with an I9 project that was moreover a filing exercise every week, and while it was monotonous, it taught me about how the organization works to start, audit, and file the I9s.

Advice

Be open to all the experiences, travel, and opportunities you are given. You never know what experiences you have that will result in a connection or a potential job offer!

Operations Control Center Intern

May - August 2019 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

The culture and my co workers were amazing. The company had a genuine drive to make everyone's experience a better one, and the airline has a huge focus towards customer satisfaction and operational safety. My manager was also the best manager I've ever had.

What I wish was different

For the purposes of my experience of being an intern, there wasn't too much to change. The industry is always rapidly changing and is extremely fast paced, so if someone isn't prepared for that it may be culture shock, but it worked out well for me.

Advice

Make sure you take advantage of all your company has to offer, as well as the area it is located!

Airline Captain

January 2017 • Detroit, MI

What I liked

The pay and travel benefits are great. I get to work with many highly qualified and motivated people on a regular basis. I get to travel around North America and see many places I wouldn’t otherwise get to visit

What I wish was different

I wish I had gotten into this career much earlier.

Advice

If you desire to get into the abiati9n industry, be prepared for the up front cost in both money and time. The time is right however, because there will soon be a much higher need for qualified pilots
