Digital Intern

What I liked

They flew us out to Palo Alto, California for the summer. The work that I did was fulfilling knowing that I was helping participate in a great cause. Over the weekends, we would do fun excursions and explore the Bay Area. The most memorable experience I had there was going to a San Francisco Giants baseball game with my coworkers, and we got great seats!

What I wish was different

Try and force yourself to network – the people at this company, as well as the Bay area, are well-connected and are open to helping you find other professional opportunities.

Affiliate Digital Learning and Engagement Internship

What I liked

The work I was able to do for Emerson Collective was extremely fulfilling and I felt that I was making a positive impact in the world each day. Everyone I worked with was so welcoming and friendly. There were a lot of networking and professional development opportunities as well.

What I wish was different

For most of the summer, my work was focused on one very large project, and I wish my work had included a variety of smaller projects as well. The internship was remote due to the pandemic and I would have preferred to be in-person.

Advice

I would definitely say you get as much out of this internship as you are willing to put in. Don't hold yourself back from taking advantage of every opportunity that is offered to you.
