I really enjoyed the supportive learning environment at EFN. They provided a lot of growth opportunities for their interns and were incredibly supportive of my interests as they related to EFN's work. I was able to learn a wide array of skills and work on a number of projects. There was also a lot of space for networking and learning about the non-profit and emergency food industries in general. I felt that EFN really invested in their summer interns and wanted to provide a meaningful experience.
What I wish was different
I think I wish that the internship had been just a little longer - like a whole semester. I felt like I just barely had the time to apply the skills I was learning when the internship ended. I feel that even just 3-4 weeks more would have solidified those skills.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would give to someone looking to intern with EFN is to be flexible. Flexibility, and willingness to try new things and change plans gave me so many opportunities to learn and network.
