What I liked

At EDGE, we had the opportunity to get great hands-on experience with local small- to medium-sized businesses. I had the chance to get an executive's perspective on how to grow a business. Whether it was analyzing financial data, building new ways to capture customers, or contacting experts, I had a well-rounded experience this past summer!

What I liked

Not a typical 9-5 working experience. Students need to be highly independent in scheduling tasks and workloads. Being able to reach out to people from various backgrounds and connect with experienced business people lays a good foundation for my future career.

What I wish was different

More variety of consulting tasks. Current projects are primarily around market exploring. Increasing the range of functions could be interesting.

Advice

Be brave. Sometimes, you need to push yourself to try something you've never done before.

What I liked

- Flexible work schedule. - Meaningful work for companies that make a difference in Northeast Ohio. - Great networking opportunity and chance to make connections with professionals in a multitude of industries. - Friday meetings/tours in-person at various businesses and locations around Cleveland.

What I wish was different

Due to COVID, we were not able to meet in person for an orientation week. This position emphasizes teamwork and communication, and first week orientation was unfortunately not able to take place.

Advice

This experience definitely solidified the importance and value of networking and connections in the professional world. Utilize connections and networks wisely and communicate consistently.
