Sales Associate

June - August 2019 • Naperville, IL

What I liked

The employees were great to work with, the hours were flexible and able to fit with whatever schedule restrictions you may have. I am passionate about outdoor experience, so I enjoyed being in-store and working with customers. Lastly, the employee discount was very nice.

What I wish was different

The layout of the store changed a lot, so I had to learn the layout each shift. It was sometimes difficult to find items for customers.

Advice

Make sure you know about the layout of the store before you start working every shift, and have a general base knowledge of Eddie Bauer gear and outdoor information.

Merchandise Processor

May - August 2018 • Groveport, OH

What I liked

I liked my supervisors and most of the people that I worked with in my department. I really liked working with and for the people I enjoyed being around and forming good relationships with them, which is very important to me. I also liked the bonus/commission a person may receive for accuracy.

What I wish was different

I really wish that people in replenishment would have the "right of way" also, to put away all merchandise per se on the shelves or in boxes on the shelves without someone losing their cool because someone is in their way; I really think this rule should not apply to just the pickers in the department but to everybody, so as to have a proficient balance of productivity.

Advice

My advice to a person wanting to enter this position would be to be on time continually, stay focused on what a trainer or supervisor told you to do and other relevant duties, and always be kind, considerate, and willing to help others. And above all: be safe.
