Pest control technician

April - August 2018 • Midvale, UT

What I liked

I loved my boss, who was really easy to work with, and treated his employees very well. I also liked the personal interactions I had on a daily basis with hundreds of different people. I also enjoyed all the ways I could earn extra cash by pushing myself a little further

What I wish was different

I worked about 60 hours/week, which was hard sometimes, but the money I made in overtime pay and bonuses usually compensated for the long hours

Advice

If you work in pest control, learn to push your limits and don’t just settle for spraying houses all day. When you find ways to go the extra mile, customers are happier, you learn new things, and with the right management, you can earn a lot of extra cash

Sales Representative

May - July 2018 • Sacramento, CA

What I liked

What I liked best about this job is how much it taught me. Ecoshield provided me with absolutely great sales experience in the short month and a half that I was with them, but more importantly, working door-to-door sales taught me exactly what it takes to be successful at any work you do - and that's goal-setting.

What I wish was different

I wish there didn't have to be 5 of us crowded in an apartment, but we made it work while it lasted.

Advice

For those of you that don't consider yourselves outgoing, get ready to learn to be comfortable talking to strangers and before anything, make sure you know why you want to do this job and don't forget it.
