This internship was great, I loved that I was able to earn so much experience by doing hands on research in an ongoing project called the Distressed Communities Index. While performing data analysis, I learned how to use Microsoft Excel to its highest capabilities. I also got a peek into the policy and economic development sector and loved every bit of it.
What I wish was different
My first week was kind of slow, but I just had to warm up to everyone in the office. I also wish they paid their interns.
Advice
Don't be afraid to examine everyone in the office and determine who has the job that you're most interested in. Shadow this person and ask them daily how you can assist them. At the end, don't forget to get those recommendations before you leave.
