Mechanical Engineer Co-op

January 2024 - July 2024 Dayton, OH
“I liked the variety of projects that I was able to be involved with. At Kodak, the engineers tend to "wear many hats", especially in manufacturing, where I worked. Most of my time was spent doing research in a few different labs (including a clean room), trying to find a way to quantify and fix problems with microscopic particles clogging the nozzles that put ink on a page. This involved a lot of measurement and analysis of data collected. Additionally, I worked to improve some manufacturing processes in the clean room, I updated some procedure documentation, I did some electrical testing for some of the circuitry on the products, and other smaller tasks. I really appreciated that I was able to take ownership of my projects, as I was doing them mostly independently. I had the opportunity to present my work multiple times and I felt like I made real contributions to the company and their goals. I also liked that the people were kind and the environment was very laid-back. It wasn't a big deal for me to take some time off for vacation, which I greatly appreciated.”

Electrical Engineer Intern

May 2023 - August 2023 Kettering, OH
“I liked the overall nature of the tasks I was given. I was exposed to the routine work and daily atmosphere of an electrical engineer. The first and most major project I was given was to identify and fix the problem of a circuit board controlling image-capturing cameras and LEDs. This required working knowledge of electrical components, diagrams, and digital design, but also the ability to find information, use resources, and grasp new knowledge quickly. I had to research the specific cameras and components that were being used in order to fully understand the functionality of the circuit board. Overall, the tasks I was given gave me great exposure to the world of engineering and what I should expect in the future. Also, everyone is extremely friendly.”
