Sales Representative

May 2019 • Annandale, NJ

What I liked

I love the people you meet through the company, and all their upbeat attitudes. Everyone is encouraging eachother to get their goals. It’s also very on track for any job that one wants to get a management job because they promote within the company and I’ve been given the opportunity to run my own office next summer! We had business trips and conferences which really give a good view point of an actual job and career.

What I wish was different

I wish I had put more effort in the summer to push myself to get my goals. I had some really big sales goals but did not get to hit some of them. So I wish I put forth more work during the summer so that I didn’t have to during the school year.

Advice

I would encourage people to try out this job atleast for a summer and not listen to the reviews people write online, it’s a lot better of a job if you put the effort in and see your success.

CUTCO Salesman

May - June 2018 • Paramus, NJ

What I liked

The experience of working “with a team”. Being part of a family-like community, where we always had each other’s backs. Encouraging, I also learned to drive from my work to the houses of my customers throughout North Bergen, NJ. You learned how to present yourself—a real public speaking opportunity

What I wish was different

For myself to have had more confidence that about selling the product. Even if I knew the product would sell—I constantly doubted myself if I could ever achieve the trust of the customer (people I knew in the beginning) to buy the product in the end due to its expense in value.

Advice

Try your best. Work and learn about the product you sell—don’t just jump right in without understanding the true value of your product. Better knowledge—more to share—more to sell! ;)
