I like how my job was onsite. I was able to meet many different people from different backgrounds. Most importantly, I was able to work on something that I love and learn more about the aircraft manufacturing process.

Advice
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I was able to get this internship because I took a chance at the career fair. During my internship, I shadowed a different person every week and was able to learn a lot about the aerospace business as well as what I would like to do in the future.

Software Engineer Intern
May - July 2020 • Cedar Rapids, IA
What I liked
I really liked that I was able to work both independently and work with my team of other engineers. I was able to work independently and create my own software for the company, and I was also able to collaborate on bigger projects and goals with my team.
What I wish was different
Due to Covid-19, working on-site was very different then I had imagined it would be like. I hope it blows over soon and I can get the full experience of the workplace!
Advice
Being involved in different clubs and having your own independent projects to show off and talk about was very useful when searching for an internship. Along with that, preparing for interviews is very important as well.
