What I liked

I enjoyed the experience of working in an office setting for the first time. I was performing basic office tasks, but I was glad to learn about office dynamics and structure. Being able to set goals and quotas was another aspect I appreciated as well. I am a numbers person, and I approached each day as a challenge to outperform myself from the previous day.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more responsibility and was able to learn a little more. A lot of the tasks I performed eventually became easy and mind-numbing. Although there was a great degree of challenges, I wish I could have used the experience to develop stronger critical thinking skills.

Advice

I think this job served as a good intermediary between my first experience and the experiences I hope to have in the future. As someone who had just completed their first year of college, I was looking for a more diverse experience than my high school job. My time at Dun and Bradstreet helped bridge the gap between an easy high school job and a more challenging internship.
