I was able to develop my Quantitative research skills by creating some interesting data models and infographics. I also expanded my knowledge of Africa's tech industry and learned about venture capital.
What I wish was different
Since I was a remote intern, as you would expect communication wasn't the best. However, I can say everyone tried to be accommodating to my schedule because I was in a different timezone.
Advice
Goal setting was an integral part of the experience. The more milestones I set for myself during the internship, the more I felt I got out of it.

What I liked
In my internship, I learnt to communicate more effectively across different stakeholders and learnt to interpret data in order to tell a story. Being remote was also a blessing as I learnt to utilize different video calling functionalities in order to engage others better. I was able to develop my knowledge of events occurring on the African continent.
What I wish was different
Being remote and communicating with organizations in different time zones made arrangements less efficient.
Advice
As internships are remote, they are also what you make of it. Communication is key as well as effective time management.
