Emergency Preparedness Intern

May 2018 • Richmond, VA

What I liked

Real work experience (not filing papers or other typical intern tasks). Since there were a lot of interns at Dominion, they planned several special events for us like volunteering days, networking events, and tours of Dominion facilities. Additionally, I was given a mentor for the summer who helped me tremendously.

What I wish was different

Wish I had a more clear understanding of what my role would be at the beginning of the experience

Advice

Treat every day of your internship like a job interview if you want to get a return offer.

Advice

It is good to try and figure things out for yourself, but definitely not for hours on end. If there are people around that can help you, then it is more than worth it to ask them for help.
