What I liked

I was given more responsibilities as the summer went on and I gained more experience and trust from the people I worked with. This gave me more confidence in the kitchen as it was my first job in the industry.

What I wish was different


Go into every learning experience you have with an open mind, calm nerves and eagerness. I was very nervous when I first arrived, but The Dolphin was a great learning environment with so much experience to gain. My day to day work was preparing pastries and playing them for service, but I also helped in other areas of the kitchen (savory) which I never would have learned if I wansn’t openminded and eager to learn.
