Dollar Shave Club

IT intern

June - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I loved the experience I have received working along with some of the best IT specialists in the field on top of the best working conditions offered, which made the stay in the company pleasant and unforgettable.

What I wish was different

I only wish that it was a little more challenging with the tasks given.

Advice

A one piece advice would be stay humble and work hard, and when the opportunity comes be ready for it.

Brand Development Intern

June - August 2018 • Marina del Rey, CA

What I liked

Incredible company culture that was created from the top down. I was given autonomy to run my project independently while given the tools and network I needed to meet major milestones in my project. My boss was incredible, easily the best I've ever had. The work had a visible impact on the business. I was given the opportunity to present to the CMO and multiple VPs. I never felt like my title as "intern" limited the work I was trying to do.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship could have run longer. 10 weeks is such a short time to attempt to make a lasting impact. There were many times where I couldn't take on additional projects or responsibility because I wouldn't be there long enough to see it through. All in all, this isn't a bad complaint to have. It really was an awesome summer.

Advice

Go into this job like there is no limit to what you can accomplish while you're there. That mindset is what allowed me to do really well and achieve things that many people didn't expect in just 10 weeks.

Influencer Marketing Coordinator

February 2018 • Marina del Rey, CA

What I liked

I liked working for a Silicon Beach company. It had a startup feel so all the work I put in really shows. Similarly, the company is very passionate about learning and growing as an applicant and employee.

What I wish was different

I wish they had more of an intern program for my fellow peers. I've noticed that most teams need some sort of assistance and would benefit from an intern, but they don't have that.

Advice

Continuously try learning and always offer to do more. It shows you're hard working when you offer to take on more tasks or take extra work off your boss/colleague to help them.
