Overnight Counselor at Stanford University

June - August 2019 • Stanford, CA

What I liked

Everything, from the people I worked with to my job. Working early mornings and later nights were tiring but still provided me much flexibility; I was able to explore the Bay Area during the entire day, from 10-4! I learned as much as the students did; from AI tech to music production. I look forward to working with DMA next summer!

What I wish was different

Nothing, the experience was nothing short of incredible. I got to work at a wonderful institution surrounded by incredibly smart and humble people.

Advice

Sleep after your work hours; you'll have more energy to be able to seize the day !

Teaching Assistant

July - August 2019 • Boston, MA

What I liked

I love the working environment since nearly all the staff are of similar age as I am.

What I wish was different

I wish I could apply for the teacher's position

Advice

I remembered I was worried about not being able to teach and lead students well, but the truth is, the environment is welcoming and everyone is nice. Believe in yourself and have confidence in yourself. For me the first week was really tired, but as I get used to the pace and workflow, everything becomes easier and easier.
