Throughout my experience all of my mentors were full of information they wanted to share. They took the extra step to always invite me to external events and conferences even if it did not directly involve me. My mentors wanted me to get the most experience during my time with them and helped me start to develop a network of professionals I could keep in touch.
What I wish was different
Since Devaney & Associates Inc. is a smaller marketing firm, they don't hire many interns. Going into this experience I knew that I was going to be their first account management intern they have ever worked with, because of this at some points my internship was a learning experience for them as much as it was for me. I had a great experience working with them professionally but there was some times of chaos.
Advice
One piece of advice I would give after this experience is to be excited to learn. Any company that hires you as an intern wants to help you grow professionally in any way they can. Don't be afraid to ask questions or express concerns, it shows you are engaged. It is always impressive to see the intern they choose going the extra mile to help themselves grow.
