What I liked

I really enjoyed the flexibility that Desert Towel provides to its interns, the company understands that you are in school and is willing to work around hours. Another thing I had enjoyed was the welcoming presence Brandon Redd provided. He is passionate about the company and truly cares about his employees.

What I wish was different

Overall, the internship was one of my favorite professional experiences and it is hard to pinpoint any desired changes. If there were anything I would suggest, it is that the internship itself could be slightly more intensive when it comes to workload.

Advice

I would highly recommend this internship. It is a great way to make connections and try something where you have creative freedom. If you put forth your best effort, it is a very useful internship when looking to sharpen marketing and other business related skills.

Creative Writing Intern

What I liked

This internship gave me the chance to do things I had never done before like running a pop-up shop and writing blog posts. It gave me great insight into running a small business which is something I've always wanted to do. Since it's a small business I was able to speak directly to the owner and learn a ton from his experiences. If you are interested in running your own business this is the internship for you. It's also great for people that don't have a lot on their resume.

What I wish was different

One of the events I was supposed to attend was canceled but it's nobody's fault and I was able to complete a different assignment instead.

Advice

I would say that you shouldn't be afraid to add your own unique style into your work. Brandon (the owner) is very open to ideas and really wants to see you succeed.

What I liked

I had the privilege of interning with Desert Towel, and it was an incredible experience! The team was incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I felt like I was part of the team from day one. The company culture was positive, innovative, and focused on customer satisfaction. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work on exciting projects and develop valuable skills. The team provided me with guidance and feedback, helping me grow as a professional. The company's commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint was inspiring, and I'm proud to have been a part of such a forward-thinking organization.

What I wish was different

Overall, my internship with Desert Towel was an exceptional experience. Advice

One of the highlights of my internship was getting to work with the Desert Towel product itself. It's truly a game-changer, and I was impressed by its unique ability to cool down as you sweat. I've used it for various outdoor activities, and it has become my go-to accessory for staying cool in the summer heat.

Intern

What I liked

I had a great time taking photos of new Desert Towel products and sharing them on Instagram. It was great being able to run a few giveaways and help market exciting new products to the public. I am happy that we were able to showcase the product to a variety of new people and educate followers on the importance of Arizona sun/heat exposure. This internship allowed me to express my creativity and help support a brand that I absolutely love. I can't wait to see where Desert Towel goes next and would love to collaborate again in the future.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change a thing! I loved everything I accomplished during this internship and had a great time. I only wish we did not have to deal with the difficulties of the pandemic. Besides that, I had a wonderful time.

Advice

I would suggest taking as much time as you can to plan out compositions and captions for photos/videos, and truly understand what you want to express. Desert Towel has done a great job informing the public about the importance of hydration and I would make sure to continue boosting exposure on this topic and reaching as many people as possible!

Creative Writing Intern

What I liked

I loved the writing prompts. It forced me to get out of my comfort zone and write based on my personality and not through a character.

What I wish was different

I wish we would have been able to do our in person event in the Fourth of July. I was excited to meet all of the interns and staff in person.

Advice

I would definitely suggest for folx to get out of their comfort zone and write in their voice. Also, it is essential to talk to other people when giving them a product sample. Be friendly !
