I was able to interact with the pediatric population and expand my knowledge in emergency care of minor health concerns while still monitoring their current healthcare treatment. It was really fulfilling to watch as these children with disabilities overcame obstacles and met their goals in such a short time.
What I wish was different
I wish the camp lasted more than a week and that other organizations contributed to increase the funding of even more children.
Advice
This is one of the most memorable and self fulling experiences of my lifetime. The staff and participants really make the difference in these children's lives. This specific camp targets children with visual impairments by increasing their motor skills and incorporating sports into their realm of therapy.
