The Delaware County Department of Planning & Watershed Affairs has several openings for Student Interns for the 2019 field season. The positions run for a period of up to twelve (12) weeks beginning in late Spring into Summer, 2019. There is flexibility on start/end dates to allow for student academic schedules. Salary is $11.10/hr based on a 35-hour work week.
The intern positions will require work in satellite locations collecting data on stream conditions and locating features of streams, infrastructure and impairments to the health of stream corridors. Collection will be completed both in writing and with use of Geographic Positioning System (GPS) units.
Interns will be required to upload data to the county Geographic Information System (GIS) from both hand-written notes and GPS units.
Interns will be required to operate county vehicles and use county equipment for field surveys in a responsible manner.
