Demand Planning Intern

May - August 2019 • Broomfield, CO

What I liked

I liked the independence given during the duration of the summer. My project had actual meaning, and I got experience working cross-functionally with other teams both in and out of Supply Chain. I also had access to network and meet with senior leadership regularly,

What I wish was different

I wish I had more day to day demand planning activities, so that I could get a more robust experience with the technology used.

Advice

If you are interested in something either in or outside your role, take the time to explore it.

What I liked

Very informative. They supported learning about all aspects of their supply chain and gave the interns an interesting project to work on all Summer as well as some standard job roles.

Do everything you can to meet with as much of Senior Management as possible. I learned a lot about the business from these people as well as their career paths to know what to expect from my own.

Quality Intern

March - August 2018 • Louisville, CO

What I liked

My main project consisted of updating many procedures, so I learned so much about many different aspects of food safety and quality, and because of that, I will be pursuing that field in grad school.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had a more formal orientation early on when I started; rather than waiting two months until the summer orientation began... I think I would have gotten more accomplished and I wouldn’t have been as tentative about asking questions

Advice

Take advantage of every single opportunity you have to learn and grow; and don’t be afraid to ask questions!

Demand Planning Intern

May - August 2018 • White Plains, NY

What I liked

I loved the company culture and how I was tasked with a project that actually left an impact on the company. I also had an amazing team that constantly worked together and I also had unlimited free yogurt and icecream.

What I wish was different

I wish I had a better mode of transportation or took advantage of being in a completely different city.

Advice

I would say to make as many connections as you can and schedule one-on-one’s with multiple different VP’s/directors and even people not in your department to get a better understanding of the company!

Supply Chain Finance Intern

May - August 2019 • Broomfield, CO

What I liked

My ability to ask questions to any employee was something that made my experience unforgettable. I worked directly with Directors, VP's and even met the CEO of the North America business unit. I didn't ever feel just like an intern.

What I wish was different

I wish that the interns I worked with didn't have to leave after the 3 months. I loved working with them and made great relationships.

Advice

First, ask questions. Second, meet as many people as you can. Lastly, work hard. Your superiors will notice if you want to learn and they will reward you for that. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, the worst they can say is no.
