The Daily Sitka Sentinel is an award-winning newspaper in a coastal community of 8,000 on Baranof Island in Southeast Alaska. Founded in 1940, the Sentinel is a family operation and a staple of the community, published each non-holiday weekday afternoon for 2,000 readers. The paper covers local, regional, national, and international news, and won six Alaska Press Club awards in 2018.
