Client Accounting Internship

What I liked

I loved the hands-on experience they allow you to get. I worked with Fortune 500 companies financials and was able to gain invaluable excel experience.

What I wish was different

nothing; the program was excellently structured, there were great mentors put in place, the workload is challenging and there are many resources there to help you succeed and grow.

Advice

You work with excel, asset management, and accounting software for 4-6 hours a day, this is a great position for someone that is considering becoming an accountant. private or public. There are also unlimited networking possibilities and unmatched company culture. I highly recommend this position to any student considering becoming an accountant.

What I liked

I liked the company culture of how everyone was welcoming and willing to share their knowledge. I got to learn more about each part of the company and not just the accounting department. Also, I made great connections to help me out in the future.

What I wish was different

I wish their was more intensive work instead of busy work, but I understand that only having ten weeks to work is difficult to cover a lot of material to do while learning a new computer system.

Advice

My piece of advice would be to be open minded to all projects that co workers need help with, you never know what you can learn from a new project.

Talent Acquisition Intern

What I liked

C&W is a large company that can expose you to a broad network of people in pretty much any field. Also, going on "space tours" to view various properties that realtors are leasing was interesting.

What I wish was different

There weren't many assignments for me to complete, but I made up for this by finding solutions to various problems that my fellow interns expressed to me. Also, I was there for 9 hours everyday with a mandatory unpaid lunch hour that sometimes made days feel extremely long when there wasn't much to do.
